The government has clearly denied the presence of any chip or tracking material in the 2000 rupee note. Many people have also tried to discern this fact on their own and have found that there is nothing as a chip or tracking device.
Then how is the government nabbing these people?
A theory suggests that whenever a person is caught with these new notes in huge amounts, the series of the notes is noted down by various departments and also passed on to intelligence departments.
These departments get the series of these notes cross-checked with the RBI to ascertain which banks these notes were sent to. Whenever notes are found in huge numbers, it directly raises suspicion over the involvement of a bank official in this racket.
This could be one way through which the government is being able to make seizures everyday and conduct successful raids. Apart from this, whenever a culprit is nabbed, his call logs and records are also scrutinized, to get further leads.
